As a matter of fact, Step Afrika is the world’s first professional company that is solely dedicated to the whole idea of stepping. I know some of you may be wondering what exactly is “stepping”? Stepping is the use of your entire body being used as if it is literally an instrument. The body becomes an instrument by utilizing one’s footsteps, clapping of the hands and orally speaking to make poly-rhythms. Being able to step is definitely hard-work and it has been historically used by African-American sororities and fraternities.
