Three Tools To Strengthen Mental Fitness

By Beth Foster September 25, 2023

Mental Fitness

I’ve been thinking about this topic for a very long time and I had to ask myself this. If we use weights to strength train our physical fitness what types of tools should we use to strengthen our mental fitness? Does this question sound familiar to you? Have you ever thought about it? Whether that question speaks to you or not, below are three types of mental fitness tools that you can use daily!

1 )MEDITATION

I know you may be thinking hmmm…mediation is a bunch of people sitting around singing or saying “Whoosah”, kind of like the scene from Bad Boys II right? Well, that scene was indeed funny and it definitely meshed perfectly to Martin Lawerence’s character. In most cases when you are meditating, you actually say nothing at all. You are trying to practice focusing on one thing, which should raise awareness as well as attention to be in a mentally calm state. I formally meditate three times a day but if you think about it. You meditate on pretty much everything you think about or give attention too. Just think about it!

2) AFFIRMATIONS

I truly believe in the power of affirmations daily. I say this because it literally brings about the practice of enforcing positive thinking along with self empowerment! If you start believing in yourself in a positive mind set, you will have a positive attitude. There is nothing wrong with having confidence and believing in oneself in order to be successful. When I used to work in the corporate realm. I used affirmations everyday before and during work just to get through the day.

3) JOURNALING

When I am journaling, it helps me with expressing how I honestly feel as well as showing much needed self-gratitude; which essentially is very beneficial to my overall health. I find that when I write my thoughts down, it enables me to regulate my emotions, reduce my anxiety and boosts my physical/mental health. Why not give it a try?
