Top of Chimney Rock with Charlie
May of 2023 Charlie and I visited Chimney Rock State Park in Chimney Rock, North Carolina. This beautiful state park is about 45 minutes away from Asheville, North Carolina. Since, I wanted to check out and do other things in a bigger city. It was advantageous for me to book a hotel in Asheville. I’d hadn’t been to Chimney Rock State Park since I was like 7 years old. So, I decided to experience this state park as an adult.
The park is opened year round, so I didn’t have to worry about it not being open or anything like that. I came for the amazing panoramic views and to also see the eye captivating waterfall! I was super excited about seeing the waterfall because it has been the location for some movies that I really enjoy! One that comes to mind is “Last of the Mohicans”. Also, only about one mile away some scenes from the movie “Dirty Dancing” were filmed at Luke Lure.

I also wanted to stand on top of Chimney Rock, so that I could see those wonderful views all around me! There is an option to either take the stairs or the elevator to the top. I opted for the stairs to get some cardio in for the day! Moreover, there are trials, rock climbing and an animal discovery den.

I love the fact that this park is family and pet oriented, which makes it even more memorable. All in all, I had a great time and I will definitely come back to Chimney Rock State Park in the future!
