Winter City Lights Olney Maryland

By Beth Foster

This past Christmas holidays, some friends and I decided we wanted to go see the Winter Lights in Olney, Maryland. Boy am I glad that we did! Not only were we going to see some pretty awesome Christmas lights but we also had the opportunity to go snow tubing! Not to mention, this place had some pretty good hot cocoa and some delicious homemade kettle-corn popcorn.

Of course the first thing that we did when we got there was go snow tubing! Let me tell y’all something. It was cold out there but that wasn’t going to stop us! We had a great time going up the stairs and climbing on top of the snow tube to get all the way down. There were four lanes per side. One on the left and one on the right side.

There was a giant snowman and a huge Christmas tree made of lights! It seem like every two minutes they had the fake snow falling around the Christmas tree for the full Christmas feeling effect. The fake snow was made of bubbles. It was nice being able to sit around the fire-pit and feel the snow and eat as well as drink. It doesn’t get any better than that!

There were so many Christmas lights along the trail that we kept stopping like every two minutes. I’ve never seen so many Christmas lights in my life. I must say that I was not disappointed. The trail was 1.5 miles, so you can enjoy the lights, listen to music and get a workout in all at the same time.

If you are in the Olney area or wish to go out of your home state for some Christmas spirit and fun. Make sure to check out this amazing winter experience! Stay fit.
