Appian Way
My second day in Rome, Italy began with my brother and I E-biking for 4 hours throughout the city. The highlight of the e-bike tour was us actually riding our bikes on the Appian Way. You may be wondering what makes the Appian Way so special? It was the primary road used by Romans in order to transport military supplies in its pursuit of southern Italy around 312 BC. To me what makes it extra special is that the road is made of stone pebbles and those same stone pebbles on the road are still being used in present day Rome.
We booked our e-bike excursion through Viator and you can also by clicking on this link https://viator.tp.st/VeQ7DCht. Get Your Guide is also a great option for booking guided tours https://getyourguide.tp.st/gejY1d8J. After riding through the Appian Way we rode through the Roman Aqueducts. The aqueducts were how the Romans used to purify and distribute water to its citizens.

The aqueducts were HUGE and the Romans were very advanced for coming up with not only a sturdy road that still exists, but also an outstanding method of purifying and distributing water.

Roman Aqueducts & Entrance of Catacombs
Before we knew it, we were passing by the Catacombs! Catacombs are underground burial places for the deceased. The total for four hours and also seeing three wonderful places with additional sights was about 83 euros. After finishing our e-bike tour we asked our tour guide to suggest us a place to eat afterwards that was nearby. The food was delicious and I ended up getting a well-known Roman drink called an Aperol Spritz. The ingredients consists of prosecco, Aperol, soda water and an orange wedge. It is a really refreshing drink and I make it quite often at home back in the states.

Next we decided to walk to the Jewish Ghetto and check out the neighborhood and a landmark commonly mistaken as the Colosseum. The Teatro Marcello in fact does look like a miniature Colosseum.

We explored the entire Jewish Ghetto and we of course had to get some gelato! Furthermore, we continued to walk around the city and see more and more sights. Until, we were like okay, we want to see a nice view of city from a great location at night! To be honest, I can not for the life of me remember what the place was called but the views were amazing! Perhaps when you go to Rome, you will be able to find it and tell me the name.
