In November of 2024, my friends and I decided that we wanted to visit one of my younger brother’s in Los Angeles, California. My brother Foster Manley (His stage name) is an aspiring actor, so he was more than happy to show us around the downtown Los Angles area. I too have lived and worked in Los Angeles but I’ve never really explored the downtown area. So, this was definitely the perfect time to do some exploring!

After landing in LAX airport, we didn’t feel like spending a lot of money on transportation from the airport to our hotel. So, we decided to take a bus called FlyAway that could drop us off at Union Station to shorten our trip and expenses. I believe it was around $12 a person, for a one way trip from LAX to Union Station. Next, we caught an Uber from Union Station to our hotel, The Biltmore Los Angeles. You too can book a hotel with this welcoming establishment by clicking on the link below:

The cost of that Uber trip was $8. We checked into our hotel and met my brother downstairs in the lobby to start exploring!

Everyone was so excited that we were going to find something to eat because we either were flying from North Carolina or Washington DC. Let me tell y’all something. Despite being hungry, on our way to food, we saw Angels Flight Railway! I was so overwhelmed to see this railway because it was featured on the hit movie musical “La La Land”!

We were 100 percent hungry lol. So, we made our way by foot to Grand Central Market, located at 317 S Broadway, Los Angeles, CA 90013. We decided on eating at Lucky Bird. That was the biggest and most juiciest chicken sandwich that I’ve had in a while. Undoubtedly, after eating that juicy chicken sandwich, we were in dire need of some dessert. What is better than a donut? Foster Manley and I opted for a powdered and cinnamon flavored donuts from The Donut Man.

After all that eating we found ourselves across town at one of Foster Manley’s Martial Arts classes. This martial arts class was so cool. I feel as if I learned so much in an hour! Our Sensei was awesome!

Next, we hit up ChinaTown and Little Tokyo! I am a big fan of Bruce Lee, so I had to take several pictures of his statue and of me imitating him near his statue lol. Hey, don’t judge me lol.

As a result of all those martial arts moves and theatrics lol, we were in the mood for some ice cream. This ice cream shop called 28 Wishes had some delightfully pleasurable gelato.

Our feet started hurting, that is when we knew that we had to catch a bus or something to get to the infamous Staples Center! Boy were we disappointed to hear that we were unable to enter the premises because of a concert that was going on that night. What a LA cliche right? lol.

Oh my! It is already the next morning! Can you all believe this? My friends have never been to the Griffith Observatory nor have hiked to the Hollywood sign. Hence, that is exactly where we spent the majority of our day! I love hiking the Mount Hollywood Trail, because it has nice views of the Hollywood sign. It is so refreshing and amazing all at once to take in the scenery all around you.

You have to hit Hollywood Blvd in Hollywood to see the Walk of Fame Stars! Confession time lol. I adore Tyler Perry and all of his movies and TV shows! I was so happy when I saw his star!

Finally, it was night time and went to this roof top bar in Hollywood called Mama Shelter. Man, this bar had some great vibes, good music, comfy rooftop and excellent drinks! Had a blast and I didn’t have time to write about all the places and events. So, check out my Youtube video below to see everything! Remember to stay fit!
