Jockey’s Ridge State Park 50th Anniversary!

by, Beth Foster

One of my favorite state parks in the state of North Carolina is celebrating 50 years! This is a huge milestone! I absolutely enjoy visiting this state park and it never gets old! The newest addition to the sand-dune state park is the Mountains To Sea Trail landmark. When I was there plenty of people wanted to take a picture with this landmark, so I had to hurry up and get a few pictures without anyone nearby!

One of the most adventurous activities you can do at this state park is hands down hang-gliding! As soon as you get out of the parking lot to head towards the sand-dunes, you will see this exact hang-glide above! I still haven’t had the opportunity to hang-glide, but I would love to do so in the near future.

When I do go, I like to watch people on the very top of the sand-dunes and also check out the groovy views of patterns of the sand! I have also indulged in some sandboarding lol.

It almost seems as if you are not in the outer banks but perhaps a mini desert lol.

If you ever have the chance to visit, it will be worth your time! So, until next time Stay Fit & God Bless!
