I really enjoy visiting Pilot Mountain State Park because it doesn’t matter what season it is, it will always be beautiful! This wonderful state park is in the state of North Carolina, located in Yadkin and Surry county and is about 20 miles from Winston Salem. In most cases you can see the actual mountain. However, this time when I went, there was a massive fog! Any other time, you would see that Pilot Mountain looks like a knob!

For the very first time I was able to see a Vulture, up close and personal! I have probably been to Pilot Mountain at least 50 times and I have never seen any wildlife but this time I did and I was beyond excited! Just like in the movies, the vulture turned his head without turning his body and looked back at us. We were like “Whoa”!

Guess what? I have a wingspan like an American Bald Eagle! I think that is pretty impressive! What do you think?!

Even on the most foggy of days, I must climb up a rock and stand on top of it! I don’t know why it’s so fulfilling but it is!
In most cases there is plenty of parking. It is also free of charge! The park is open everyday other than Christmas Day. We are in the month of May, so currently the hours are from 7am-9pm until the last day of September.

Below is a short that I made on Youtube!
